Hand-crafted, research-driven user experience

Work With Me

Who am I?

To most people, I’m a web designer.

More accurately, I’m a user experience designer; but that’s a term so abstract it can be difficult to understand. At its core, my work is driven by research into the people who use your website—your customers.

What do I do?

Proper research

  • Competitive review
  • Customer and user interviews
  • Metrics analysis

Evaluation

  • Benchmarking
  • Usability testing (remote and on-location)
  • Accessibility testing

Mindful, user-centered design

  • Personas
  • Card sorting, laddering, triads
  • Storyboarding
  • Wireframes
  • Visual concepts

Standards-based development

  • Clean HTML/CSS
  • Progressive browser enhancement with CSS3 and HTML5
  • MVC application framework

Some of my recent work

Eating Real Food

Eating Real Food is a blog about natural and healthy eating. The design is intended to be clean and easy to read. There are very few ads because advertisements tend to be distracting and way too many blogs exist solely for revenue generation.

TappGala

TappGala is a gallery of great iPhone application design. I work on this project with John Phillips.

WeightsLog

WeightsLog (not yet released) is a workout tracking system. Design and interaction is simple and straightforward.
